Seeded pick 4 and 5. Weather getting cooler with snow forecast later on.

Key Bets & Races for Saturday, November 19

A quick recap on last week's Key Bets! If you followed along, we cashed on several recommended exactas (3 of 4) with $1 exactas payouts of $68, $106, and $30! We also had a $21 winner and a $17 place price. Be sure to follow along this week!

Notebook Stakes - Race #5 at Aqueduct – Post Time 2:17 PM ET

Bourbon Empire was highly impressive in his career debut 24 days ago, showing maturity to rally from 5th of 10 early and pulling off to win by 4 lengths at the end. Junior Alvarado rides back and with a best of 41 half-mile workout as his most recent showing he's in great form, and with lots of improving to do in his 2nd career start, Bourbon Empire should be tough to beat. "IF" he draws into the race, Breeze Burner is worth a win, win/place or win/place/show bet because although he only won a 25K maiden claimer at Delaware Park in his career debut in September, it caught the attention of sharp owner Michael Dubb and top trainer Rudy Rodriguez, so much so he was privately purchased and entered in this stakes for NY Breds only off that "open" (not restricted) maiden claiming win.

Bet Bourbon Empire to win at odds of 2 to 1 or more.

Consider additional win bet (or win/place or win/place/show) on Breeze Burner at odds of 6 to 1 or more.

Play an exacta consisting of Bourbon Empire over ALL

Roy Steele (www.horsewhispererusa.com goes for value by covering the Harness card at Woodbine this evening.

Get everybody into the swing of things, ready for the huge card on Saturday evening, with nearly 2 million buckeroos in prizemoney.

Plus a valued Thoroughbred card in the afternoon. The folks of Toronto and surrounding areas, Buffalo included, are sure spoiled when it comes to live racing.

Visiting US trainers have supplemented the fields with runners for this evening and also last night.

The Autumn Series Finals go this evening so some quality racing on hand with some nice prices.

Could be a huge carryover in the Super Hi 5 wager keep an eye on Twitter for updates.

The Pick 4 and 5 are seeded tonight.

20 cent minium wagers on all exotics including the Super Hi 5 which helps big time PLUS only 15% take out in the Super Hi 5 wager! Value Value Value!

123Racing Pick 6 starts in Race 6 - the wager alike to all handicapping comps.

Weather is a BARMY. I mean BARMY 20C thats the forecast which will be a record for all time. Cooler of course at Post Time.

A competitive 7-horse field in which over half of the competitors can be regarded as serious contenders. Value very likely available at post time.

FEAR THE COWBOY (3-1): A Horse for Course (2) 1-1-0 and Distance (9) 4-3-0, developing 4YO has improved over the summer and fall; nicely drawn with tactical speed and inside position, goes well for Dusty Shepherd, and Efrem Loza is 24% profitable in non-graded stakes and an otherworldly 33% effective with this kind of spacing. Co-fastest runner on Pricci Energy Ratings scale.

RISE UP (4-1): Pointing for this since late September, he is also a surface (5) 3-1-1 and distance (8) 3-1-2 lover who is the other fast runner competing here. Owns dominating early speed and comes into this with Javier Castellano on a return call. The controlling speed and would make a worthy choice.

HESINFRONT (4-1): Probably the least formidable of the four, it will be interesting to see the recent $62,500 claim will perform at this level. A solid 6-time winner in 33 career starts, most wins have come around two turns. Short run to first turn demands an alert start. Keith Bourgeois is 22% profitable second time off the claim and similarly 24% with shippers.

GREAT MINDS (5-2): The third of three Course (2) 2-0-0 and Distance (6) 4-1-1 lovers, he’s a Grade 3 winner and hails from a barn that’s enjoyed 25% success going synth-to- dirt. Obviously pointed to this making his first start since September and reunites with McMahon, aboard for three wins and a second in four career rides.

Roy Steele (www.horsewhispererusa.com) had his 5th straight positive ROI with the Standardbreds, Saturday Night.

They have since moved racing from Mohawk into Toronto at Woodbine, which is a dual code track, Thoroughbred and Standardbred.

Some nice exotics to hit all with 20cent min stakes.

Pick 5 40k Guar. Race 1 and the Pick 4 50k Guar. Race 4.

4 Trot Races and 6 Pacing Races on the card.

Weather has definitely got cooler, but hey if we're getting nice winners who cares! Last card we gave a $17.70, a $26.50, a $10.10 and a $3.20 winner - with some place and show dividends thrown in for good measure.

Cloudy and around 8deg C. come race time track fast.

PLUS A CARRYOVER OF OVER QUARTER MILLION $$$$$. Race 10 Super Hi 5 Wager - first five home. 20cent min stake.

Roy Steele (www.horsewhispererusa.com) keeps on track covering the Woodbines Harness card

Post Time 7:30pm EST

We have been returning some nice posotive ROI's with the harness racing and some nice individual returns. Lets go for another one!

Woodbine is the only track that can offer Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing in the same day in the same place note two different tracks at the same location.

The Winter meet is well under way with the usual suspects making the headlines.

Driver Fillion for Moreau are ones to follow long term these French Canadians have been top of the tables for a few years now and always have their horses primed to race.

Weather is cool 5C but clear PLUS last race looks like it will have a carryover of over a quarter of a million dollars in the Super Hi 5 wager (First five home in correct order). All exotics have a 20 cent minium stake.

Key Bets & Races for Saturday, November 12

Red Smith Handicap - Race #7 at Aqueduct –Post Time 3:17 PM ET

Smooth Daddy opens at 15/1 odds but could as easily be as low odds as many of other contenders based on the company he's faced, and finished 2nd to, in 3 of his last 4 races including Grade 1 stakes winners Twilight Eclipse and Ironicus. Smooth Daddy has great tactical speed and should be first or 2nd from the start and the 108 Equibase Figure effort put forth in his runner-up finish in may in the Grade 3 Fort Marcy could be good enough to post the upset here. Messi, Bigger Picture and Wake Forest are all contenders to win as well but as for Wake Forest, with a 1 for 6 record in the U.S., he's a bad win bet opening at 8/5 odds. Messi won the Grade 2 Sky Classic one before last when Prado rode him for the first time and Prado gets back on after a one race absence so he could be playable to win as well. Bigger Picture has three wins and a nose defeat since the Maker claim last November and fits perfectly at the level. Arties Silver Mine just ran the best race of his career and ships in from Woodbine, picking up Irad Ortiz, Jr. so is another that could help us profit here.

Bet Smooth Daddy to win and place at 3 to 1 or more.

Consider additional win bet (or win/place bets) on Messi, Bigger Picture and Arties Silver Mine.

Play an exacta consisting of Smooth Daddy, Messi, Bigger Picture, Wake Forest and Arties Silver Mine over Smooth Daddy, Messi, Bigger Picture, Wake Forest, Arties Silver Mine, I'll Call, Up With the Birds and Danish Dynaformer.

Grade 3 RED SMITH HANDICAP | 3&UP | 1-3/8 Miles - TURF

A dozen runners were entered overnight but it wasn’t long before it became apparent the marathon would boil down to three prime contenders trained by three grass masters.

Chad Brown saddles 8-5 early line favorite 8-Wake Forest, short odds by virtue of the fact he exits five straight Grade 1s—yes, this is much easier—and he’s 1-for-1 at the trip. While he might not be course or distance compromised, a slow pace could make it difficult. However, Javier’s good at adapting to that kind of thing...

Two with upset potential are 7-Messi (5-1) and 11-Danish Dynaformer (5-1).

Messi is on a bounce-rebound pattern, off a lowly rated effort, however—and is laudably versatile; racing on the pace or from off of it. Reuniting with winning rider Edgar Prado, Graham Motion is profitable in graded stakes. Recent works at Fair Hill base very sharp.

Four-year-old Danish Dynaformer, developing nicely for Roger Attfield, has been up against it lately vs. Grade 1 rivals in last two. He does own a win at this level going 12 furlongs so distance a non-issue here. Anytime this barn reaches out for Johnny in New York, you can wager the horse is live.

Most Probable Winner: Wake Forest

Value Players: Danish Dynaformer or Messi

Roy Steele, International Handicapper, takes in the Woodbine card on a sunny Saturday. Which will make for fast going for the two turf races. Not as fast as the turf at Santa Anita where the Europeans are having trouble with the blazing fractions which are setting the race up for North American closers. Could be a long weekend for the Euros. Woodbine trainer Casse's super filly TEPIN will be looking to finish off a fine season in the BC Mile Race 11.

The pick 5 and Pick 4 are seeded to the tune of 50k and 100k.

Key Bets & Races for Saturday, November 5

Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies - Race #4 at Santa Anita –Post Time 12:05 PM PT, 3:05 ET

The race goes through Jamyson 'n Ginger, impressive winner of a one turn mile at Belmont last month. It was just a maiden race and it was on a sloppy track but she had shown promise in her 8/14 debut when making a quick move to rally from 4th to 1st between points of call before settling for third. She lost all chance in her 2nd career start with stumble as the gates opened then in that 10/9 race she dominated by 15 lengths at the end with a Grade 1 (for MALES) quality 108 Equibase Speed Figure. She doesn't need the lead to win, should love the two turn trip as a daughter of Bernardini out of a Milwaukee Brew Mare and will be tough to beat. There are many that have a shot to hit the board and be part of the exacta or trifecta but I'll land on two to look at, and they can win as well. Valadorna debuted with a runner-up effort in a one-turn mile on 9/16 then stretched out to two turns and won easily on 10/7. The 92 Equibase figure from the win is inferior to the top pick but indicates she ran as fast or faster than the winners of both the Chandelier Stakes and Alcibiades Stakes so as she's only making her 3rd career start she deserves consideration as a contender. American Gal is two-for-two, both sprints, and loses Bejarano to Noted and Quoted. However, Smith is just fine and she can sit off the pacesetter, whoever that is, and improve off her strong 101 Figure win last out.

Roy Steele - www.Horsewhispererusa.com - gives his best bet of the Four Breeders' Cup races at Santa Anita today.

Race 8 is the BC Juvenile Fillies Turf.

Go back to ARC day first weekend in October and Aidan Obrien Was placed 1,2,3. at Chantilly. When asked about his plans for the Breeders he Replied "Same Again". Never thought much of it till the PP's came out and low and behold the Obrien's have three excellent horses entered in the above race.

Two are from the Cooolmore stable and INTRICATELY 6/1 is trained by son Joseph. Joseph is well versed with Santa Anita becoming the youngest jock to ride a winner in the Breedeers Cup their 4 years ago. Weight has caught up with him and now has an established string of horses under both codes in training in Ireland. Could this be a slam dunk for Ireland.

Rolly Poly - 4/1: a War Front filly is the choice of Ryan Moore who has won twice on her. Comes off a nose defeat in the Cheveley Park Stakes a top G1 2yo race at Newmarket. Gets first time lasix which in a filly is huge.

Intricatley - 6/1: Beat HYDRANGEA by a nose in her last a G1 over 7f. also gets First TIme Lasix. Young Joseph looking to make history.

Hydrangea - 6/1: Will take advantage of the rail and make the pace First time lasix Heffernan has won her and she is a daughter of super sire Galileo will relish a test of stamina.

Recommend Win on Top selection then box for Ex and Tri.
