ROY STEELE, www.horsewhispererusa.com, visits Turfway Park just outside of Cincinatti although in Kentucky.

Evening kickoff and it will be cold cold cold. The track is synthetic Poly installed the sametime as Keeneland ....Keeneland however has returned to Dirt. Turfway Park was the first track in North America to simulcast European racing so is well known around the world. Does have the feel of a Harness track with an enclosed grandstand.

Some top trainers and jocks will compete here being just down the road from Lexington. Plus keep an eye out for Steve Cauthen the Kentucky Kid who is often attending the racing.

The 123Racing Pick 6 wager is akin to all handicapping contests master this wager and your off to the races when competing in all contests.

Recommend Win on the top selection each race then box all three selections each race for Ex and Tri.

There is a small carryover for the Super Hi 5 wager in the last race (first five home in order). Can only be one winner to take the whole pot.

Key Bets & Races for Saturday, December 10

If you followed along with Ellis' Key Bets from last week, we had two recommended winners - one paying $17.20 - as well as 2 Exactas - one paying $59. We look to continue on our winning ways with this week's edition of Betting with Ellis Starr.

Race #4 at Aqueduct –Post Time 1:47 PM ET

Trainer Rudy Rodriguez has a pair in this maiden event, Hammerin Aamer (5/1 morning line) and Duettino (12/1). Hammerin Aamer ran horribly in his career debut 8/6 then next out 9/17 pressed the pacesetters in 3rd for a half-mile then tired to sixth. Rested nearly three months, and on the speed favoring inner track, he could be tough to catch. That being said, Duettino is VERY PLAYABLE as he's the 8th foal of his dam, with six of the other seven having run FIRST OR SECOND in their debuts, including top runners Darwin and Offlee Cool. The works are slow and that just leads to the intrigue for a trainer whose first time starters have shown a 35% profit on win bets in the last year. Robbins adds Lasix for his 3rd career start while True Timber makes the 2nd start of his career and both can improve off mediocre efforts.

Bet both Duettino and Hammerin Aamer to win at 3 to 1 or more. Add a place bet on Duettinoat 7 to 1 or more.

Play an exacta box consisting of Duettino, Hammerin Aamer, Robbins and True Timber.

Tampa Bay Downs - Late Pick 4 - December 10, 2016

By John Pricci
Exclusively for 123bet.com

Race 7: In these “three lifetime” claimers, lightly raced runners get the call; the case here:

CUNNINGHAM CREEK (5-2) has high profile connects, the barn’s runners have been competitive thus far at meet, has won two of seven lifetime starts and made a one-paced rally into third here Nov. 26. That’s a big plus and Speith sticks.

GINGGE (2-1) also has a race over the track and now makes second start off the layup while turning back to winning distance after pace battle going 7 furlongs. Tony Wilson and Wilmer Garcia have been a very productive team.

EXTREME EXCESS (7-2) finished willingly behind tougher set going 6-1/2 furlongs last out now drops back in with NL3 types; figures to be running late.

Both of JUSTEVERYDAY’s (6-1) lifetime wins have been in Oldsmar, Bernell Rhone is profitable 15% in LAY-2 scenarios and 4YO filly goes well for Dean Butler.

Race 8: The ability to get the distance always a primary issue when going 9 furlongs on Tampa turf

I’M THE LUCKY ONE (4-1) raced dully in Tampa return now drops in with straight claimers after trying starter handicappers and optional claimers in recent starts. Half his lifetime wins have come on this course and was second in lone start at today’s trip.

CALVADOS (5-2) is a productive old pro that also returns to his proper level here after good, albeit one-paced finish in course debut. Barn traditionally has done well at this meet and strong-finishing De La Cruz takes the return call.

DIAZ (3-1) briefly freshened and pointed to this, drops to winning level, won his only start on this course and five time turf winner has more than enough pedigree for the stretchout. Reunites with winning rider Camacho.

CHANG’S SECRET (7-2) has not run this cheaply for some time and looms the controlling speed for Dini’s whose runners have looked live. Goes well with switch back to Ferrer.

THUNDERINWILLIE (12-1) is field’s lone winner at the distance, Kathleen O’Connell’s gotten off to a good start at the meet and looms a live wakeup candidate with return to Tampa and teaming up with Ronnie Allen. Price shot.

Race 9: Very competitive group of claiming routers and eventual winner will need his ‘A’ game to get this done

CANDY WALTZ (7-2) is capable of sitting a good trip while pole sitting behind likely pacesetter Bit Growth. Was second here when making his last run for this barn in January and has compiled worthy (12) 6-3-0 slate at this trip, 8-for-22 at all others.

TEMPIETTO (5-2) hails from Jamie Ness, a factor everywhere but especially on this circuit. Ships in sharp from PEN for this and gets switch to Edwin Gonzalez a lofty 21% effective in 2016. Gelded 4YO is 2-for-5 at today’s distance, 2-for-14 at all others.

FATHER DENNIS (6-1) comes into this from Delaware with good spacing for Robert Raymond, 21% efficient with claiming repeaters. Late developing 4YO attracts Dean Butler, a distance ace over this surface.

TO THE STARS (8-1) has been freshened by capable return outfit after going off form at Delaware this summer. Twice a winner from nine starts here including two third, Rigattieri has deserved reputation for his prowess with claiming shippers.

SCHADDEI (6-1) hails from barn that’s 27% profitable with its shippers.

Race 10: Love that Tampa usually ends it’s Saturday program with a turf event for potential good ones; either way they’re always highly competitive

JOHN’S LEGACY (7-2) has shown incremental Pricci Energy Ratings improvement and finished very willingly in deep stretch from wide posts in large turf fields at CD. Nicely bred both sides for grass and Declan Cannon takes a return call.

LIGHTNING FLASH (6-1) showed high promise in turf debut vs. maiden claimers at MED and appears placed properly with this group. Low profile barn is profitable with its turf runners and shippers and has worked well since, including three local moves, including very sharp Nov. 24 breeze.

JOY WALTZ (4-1) is turf and distance meant on both sides of pedigree making debut for the prolific Graham Motion with purposeful works at Fair Hill base, including a recent local blowout. Angel Cruz profitable on grass after more than 200 rides.

CANNAVARO (5-1) is an uncoupled mate of Joy Waltz that been keeping in step with the latter in company at Fair Hill and also boasts local drill, albeit the latter at 5F as opposed to mate’s 4F a day later. Larry Mejias has recent win for this outfit.

WILD THING 6-1) has been working well here since early November, barn does well with its grass runners and boasts excellent 4F drill here on Dec. 4, 5<th fastest of 56 peers that week.

OBVIOUS ONE (5-2): is well named, earning two excellent Thoro-Graph figures in both starts. Fastest horse in race is 50 days removed from that effort; 32% profitable scenario for DaCosta.

CHANCE OF LUCK (3-1), uncoupled Bennett, earned very good figure winning 7F racing debut at Laurel, a key event producing three next out winners.

TRIUMPHANT JOY (9-2): beat maiden claimers in fast time at Delaware, a key race producing three next out winners and Gerald Bennett has won with two DEL shippers this meet.

DOWNTOWNBIGBROWN (8-1): has not developed as of yet but uncoupled DaCosta could improve on the turnback.

DONT COME KNOCKIN (8-1): has never taken backward step and moved forward when distant third in recent stakes; back in sprint makes it a tricky read.

DOUBLE DOWN DRAMA (8-1) makes debut in stakes off series of fast works with an early pedigree for Jonathan Thomas, 2-for-2 here through Wednesday; interesting.

Key Bets & Races for Saturday, December 3

Go for Wand Handicap - Race #8 at Aqueduct –Post Time 3:43 PM ET

High Ridge Road gets a good outside post for this one turn mile trip as she cuts back from two turns. She won right before that in a one turn mile race, bringing her career record at the trip to a perfect three-for-tree. Two of those three wins came on the trainer change to Rice, who is sizzling hot so far at the meeting (8 for 31) and with the 2nd best last race Equibase Figure (104) in the field, High Ridge Road gets top billing. Bar of Gold is likely to be the heavy favorite coming off an 18 length win. Even though the win came in a one turn route like this one, it came against statebreds and it came on a sloppy track, so I feel the 117 Equibase figure is inflated. Her best before that was a solid 102 and Rosario rides back so she can't be discounted as a contender for exactas and pick 3's but there are others here offering better value for win bets. Highway Star, like Bar of Gold, is a NY bred who just won against her own kind and who is facing open company. Her won over the track last month at 7 furlongs was her best effort yet and she's four-for-four around one turn on dirt so she rounds out a trio that stands out against the other four entrants.

Bet High Ridge Road to win at odds of 2 to 1 or more. Consider a second win bet, on Highway Star, at 5 to 2 or more.

Play an exacta box consisting of High Ridge Road, Bar of Gold and Highway Star.

ROY STEELE of www.Horsewhispererusa.com looks at getting his xmas spends courtesy of today's card at Woodbine!

Excellent wagering card this afternoon all on the tapeta main track which is fast.

Couple of shippers for the restricted stakes in Race 8, only five runners, but a real quality field. Take a look at the sales prices on a couple of these 2yos, one of them - his last race was in the BREEDERS CUP JUV. TURF. If it was at today's distance he would be the champ for sure.

123Racing Pick 6 kicks off in Race 5, the wager alike to all handicapping comps.

20 cent min stake on all exotics, plus the Pick 4 and 5 are seeded to the tune of 100k and 50k.

Weather will be sunny with clouds 6C. Happy Times are here again!

Recommend Win top selection, then box all selections for Ex and Tri till the cows come home.

Only 4 more days of racing then the horses disperse to the farms or racing down South.

200k Plus Carryover in the super hi 5 last race.

Key Bets & Races for Saturday, November 26

My Charmer Handicap - Race #5 at Gulfstream Park West – Post Time 2 PM ET

Secret Someone should really appreciate the drop to grade 3 stakes. She ran poorly (9th) in a grade 1 last time out and as poorly (8th) in a grade 1 two before that. However, she won the Ladies' Turf Stakes at Kentucky Downs in between those two and won the Lady Canterbury Stakes in June, both wins coming off the trainer change to Stidham. McCarthy comes in from Maryland to ride and at 8/1 this gal may be tough to beat and easy to bet. Strike Charmer is the other main win contender, as her effort last out on soft turf can be ignored, as can her grade 1 try prior to that. Three back she won the Grade 2 Ballston Spa and Junior Alvarado, up for that win, is in from New York to ride.

Bet Secret Someone to win at odds of 2 to 1 or more

Play an exacta consisting of Secret Someone and Strike Charmer over Secret Someone, Strike Charmer, Dad's Princess, Stormy Victoria, Sea Coast and Isabella Sings.

Race 3 - Grade 3 COMELY STAKES | 3YO FILLIES | 1-1/8 Miles

Lewis Bay (8-5): Showed a new dimension with a dominating front-running score taking the G3 Turnback the Alarm and in the past has been better with a target. Either way she’s a strong favorite as a two-time winner at today’s added distance and a perfect 2-for-2 at the Big A. Only question is returning on short rest from a lifetime best run; strong favorite nonetheless.

Unbridled Mo (2-1): A winner of four of five lifetime starts, she returns off a career best but has lots of recovery time (Sept. 29), and all four of her wins have come around two turns. All five sibs are winners including another stakes horse, is training right along and Johnny takes the return call.

Going For Broke (3-1): Raced dully vs. her elders in G1 Beldame following a game placing behind redoubtable Songbird the only time she faced straight 3YOs this year. Owns a two-turn win at the trip and was second in her only start on this surface. Plenty of stamina on top side of pedigree; bottom side not as much.

Mo d’Amour (10-1): Despite a long pedigree, she’s been unsuccessful in four career starts at the trip but has shown incremental improvement over the summer, coming into this fresh. Has been training well since September, Todd is 28% efficient off 90-days+ layups looks ready for career best now. Live price shot.

Trainers in form Moreau Auciello Bailargeon.

Track will be fast and a cool evening predicted.

Roy Steele - www.horsewhisperereusa.com is focused on the evening card at Woodbine .... the season is winding down but still some good racing on offer.

Last Sunday's card was abandoned half way thru due to the weather, snow, wind you name it.... made it too dangerous to compete in.

We should be ok this evening although it will be Cold Cold Cold.

No carryovers to speak off but the Pick 4/5 are seeded 50k/100k.

All exotics have a 20 cent min stake.

The 123Racing Pick 6 kicks off in Race 3 the wagering format that all Handicapping contests apply.

All the major horses have headed to their winter quarters plus Mark Casse has lost nearly a hundred horses out of his barn with the dispersal of Conquest Stables. Although he has the resources to replenish with new stock and owners.

A couple of stakes races left on the calander before we shut down for the winter then the standardbred guys have the track to themselves for the Winter.

We recommend Win top selection each race then box for Ex and Tri with all three selections each race.

Roy Steele - www.horsewhispererusa.com liking the chances of bringing down the 123Racing Pick 6, the wager alike to all handicapping contests.

Keep going on about the weather but seeing is believing of late. historical records broken on Friday 23 C now minus temps and snow showeres. "Getting alot like Xmas".

Main Track is still fast and the Turf Good.

Seeded Piick 4 $ 100k and Pick 5 $ 50k

Recommend Win top selection each race then Box for Ex and Tri.

Roy Steele (www.horsewhispererusa.com) comments from Woodbine, where an outstanding night of Harness racing is in store.

$1.9 Million Canadian dollars on offer in purse money this evening, with 4 big stakes races all part of the Grand Circuit.

Lots of interest from across the border....welcome home Scotty Zeron who competes in the bike against his father Rick.

Plenty of wagering opportunities this evening with a carryover in the Super Hi 5 ( First 5 home) of $275,349.78 in the last race.

Seeded pick 4 and 5. Weather getting cooler with snow forecast later on.

Key Bets & Races for Saturday, November 19

A quick recap on last week's Key Bets! If you followed along, we cashed on several recommended exactas (3 of 4) with $1 exactas payouts of $68, $106, and $30! We also had a $21 winner and a $17 place price. Be sure to follow along this week!

Notebook Stakes - Race #5 at Aqueduct – Post Time 2:17 PM ET

Bourbon Empire was highly impressive in his career debut 24 days ago, showing maturity to rally from 5th of 10 early and pulling off to win by 4 lengths at the end. Junior Alvarado rides back and with a best of 41 half-mile workout as his most recent showing he's in great form, and with lots of improving to do in his 2nd career start, Bourbon Empire should be tough to beat. "IF" he draws into the race, Breeze Burner is worth a win, win/place or win/place/show bet because although he only won a 25K maiden claimer at Delaware Park in his career debut in September, it caught the attention of sharp owner Michael Dubb and top trainer Rudy Rodriguez, so much so he was privately purchased and entered in this stakes for NY Breds only off that "open" (not restricted) maiden claiming win.

Bet Bourbon Empire to win at odds of 2 to 1 or more.

Consider additional win bet (or win/place or win/place/show) on Breeze Burner at odds of 6 to 1 or more.

Play an exacta consisting of Bourbon Empire over ALL

Roy Steele (www.horsewhispererusa.com goes for value by covering the Harness card at Woodbine this evening.

Get everybody into the swing of things, ready for the huge card on Saturday evening, with nearly 2 million buckeroos in prizemoney.

Plus a valued Thoroughbred card in the afternoon. The folks of Toronto and surrounding areas, Buffalo included, are sure spoiled when it comes to live racing.

Visiting US trainers have supplemented the fields with runners for this evening and also last night.

The Autumn Series Finals go this evening so some quality racing on hand with some nice prices.

Could be a huge carryover in the Super Hi 5 wager keep an eye on Twitter for updates.

The Pick 4 and 5 are seeded tonight.

20 cent minium wagers on all exotics including the Super Hi 5 which helps big time PLUS only 15% take out in the Super Hi 5 wager! Value Value Value!

123Racing Pick 6 starts in Race 6 - the wager alike to all handicapping comps.

Weather is a BARMY. I mean BARMY 20C thats the forecast which will be a record for all time. Cooler of course at Post Time.

Exclusively for 123bet.com

A competitive 7-horse field in which over half of the competitors can be regarded as serious contenders. Value very likely available at post time.

FEAR THE COWBOY (3-1): A Horse for Course (2) 1-1-0 and Distance (9) 4-3-0, developing 4YO has improved over the summer and fall; nicely drawn with tactical speed and inside position, goes well for Dusty Shepherd, and Efrem Loza is 24% profitable in non-graded stakes and an otherworldly 33% effective with this kind of spacing. Co-fastest runner on Pricci Energy Ratings scale.

RISE UP (4-1): Pointing for this since late September, he is also a surface (5) 3-1-1 and distance (8) 3-1-2 lover who is the other fast runner competing here. Owns dominating early speed and comes into this with Javier Castellano on a return call. The controlling speed and would make a worthy choice.

HESINFRONT (4-1): Probably the least formidable of the four, it will be interesting to see the recent $62,500 claim will perform at this level. A solid 6-time winner in 33 career starts, most wins have come around two turns. Short run to first turn demands an alert start. Keith Bourgeois is 22% profitable second time off the claim and similarly 24% with shippers.

GREAT MINDS (5-2): The third of three Course (2) 2-0-0 and Distance (6) 4-1-1 lovers, he’s a Grade 3 winner and hails from a barn that’s enjoyed 25% success going synth-to- dirt. Obviously pointed to this making his first start since September and reunites with McMahon, aboard for three wins and a second in four career rides.
